Big Boy Lincoln Park During Demolition

As documented in Big Boy Lincoln Park the former restaurant was our first restaurant we ever documented on the website. It came as a surprise after 2 additional years of sitting abandoned with its Sears Lincoln Park counterpart, being demolished in mid 2024. Here is some pictures long before the demolition, taken in 2024.
It came as a surprise when it was announced that the Big Boy in Lincoln Park would be demolished. However due to its small size it was demolished largely in one day and interestingly no fence was put up around the property during demolition, a mistake contractors learned from years ago.
With all the metal that dropped from the demo site of the Big Boy, one lucky illegal scrapper got off with about 30 pieces of scrap from the site. As seen in this picture.
The remaining shots taken at the site show a very quick done and over with demolition however in the midst of demolition, features of the Big Boy could be seen such as checker tiles poking out from the site, along with booths that once hosted thousands of families throughout the years.
